| The chapter is organizing one (1) day conference on 11 June 2011 to spread the awareness about the importance and need of Project Management. The theme of the conference is 'Project Management for Excellence'. This conference would try to answer how proper Project Management can contribute in achieving excellence and overall growth with on time, on budget and high quality delivery of projects. It also provides opportunity and platform for all project management professionals, aspiring project managers and other stakeholders across industries in and around Kerala to come together and get benefitted from the knowledge and experience of several experts in this area. |

Enable more middle level managers to deliver business value through effective project management: Industry in Kerala is growing rapidly and it requires on time, on budget delivery with high quality deliverables. This cannot be achieved without good project management. The conference would help in spreading awareness about the globally accepted standards of Project Management and thus improve the success rate of projects.
Delivery Excellence through cross industry best practices sharing: A study by PMI - FICCI on six sectors in India showed that IT-ITES sector is having the highest level of project delivery performance and adoption of Project Management best practices, followed by Automobile sector. Infrastructure is one sector where both these factors are lagging. Other sectors like Real Estate and Energy also needs much focus in the adoption of project management best practices. This conference would help spread and adopt the best practices across industries and improve networking among project managers, thus improving the success rate of projects in all sectors. Attract more business to Kerala: The improved success rate of projects would attract investors in opening and expanding their operations in Kerala. This would generate more job opportunities and repeat business, thus helping the overall growth of the state. |
